This whale spent two days chasing the supertrawler that took their food.

Thursday, 30 Apr, 2026

Imagine a world where whales return to their traditional feeding grounds and find a fleet of floating factories taking their food. Where whale numbers are increasing since the end of commercial whaling, but the food supply they need to survive is under threat.

This is not a distant nightmare. It is the stark reality facing marine wildlife in the Antarctic today. Industrial supertrawlers operating on behalf of supplement and pet food companies are stripping the ocean of krill – the keystone species that supports 96% of the caloric needs for several species of penguins, seals and baleen whales in the Antarctic.

Heartbreakingly, on our recent campaign to the Southern Ocean, crew on board the Allankay witnessed a whale following a supertrawler that had taken its food - for at least two consecutive days.

But today, you have a rare chance to fight back with twice the impact.

A very generous donor will DOUBLE every gift, up to $100,000. That means every dollar you give right now goes twice as far to protect whales, penguins, and the entire Antarctic ecosystem.

For years, we’ve worked to bring this crisis to light, and with the support of people around the world, people like you - we’ve shown that real change is possible in the Antarctic Peninsula.

Major retailers like Holland & Barrett in the UK and dm, one of Europe’s largest chemist chains, have committed to dropping krill products from their shelves. They saw the damning evidence gathered from Sea Shepherd’s investigations, understood the damage of krill fishing, and responded to the call to action of concerned, everyday people.

This victory proves that when we unite, the market shifts. It proves that the extraction of wildlife from the Antarctic can be halted by public demand. With your help, we can continue to put pressure on retailers.

But there is still a lot to do!

Despite these incredible wins and while retailers listen to consumers, the industrial supertrawlers operating in the Southern Ocean are not vulnerable to community action, and they do not listen to petitions. They operate with impunity in one of the most remote environments on earth, ignoring the warnings of scientists and the pleas of conservationists.

As you read this, they are still plundering this precious part of the Southern Ocean.

Market pressure takes krill off shelves, but we also need legislative change, brought about by evidence physically gathered at the heart of the krill crisis, to stop the supertrawlers.

Just as we did when we shut down whaling in the Southern Ocean, we have the ship, the crew, the expertise and the track record to successfully take on the krill fishery. We deploy patrols to document the destruction, gather scientific evidence, expose harmful practices, and defend the Southern Ocean.

But we cannot continue this fight without your help. Support from generous people like you is the fuel that drives change.

Every dollar you give today has twice the impact.

Will you donate $45, $60, or a very generous $120 today to keep the pressure on krill product retailers, and our ship, Allankay, on the frontlines shadowing and exposing industrial supertrawlers?

  • $45 doubled to $90, will support independent science that is gathering the data necessary to convince policy makers to close off the Antarctic Peninsula to fishing;

  • $60 doubled to $120, will advance our markets campaign that is convincing major retailers to stop selling krill;

  • $120 doubled to $240, will fuel our ship, that is on the frontlines of Antarctica, making the fishing industry accountable to conservationists.

Your support today is more than just a donation; you are the shield protecting the last true wilderness on Earth.

You are funding the movement that confronts the trawlers at sea and uses evidence to force companies and governments to act. Thank you!
