Single-use plastics is a very important issue both nationally and globally with many countries and regions, like the European Union, recently introducing new legislation to ban some of the worst offenders when it comes to plastic pollution.

South Australia has been a leader in the field in Australia when it comes to waste management introducing a ban on lightweight bags in 2009 and introducing a Container Deposit Scheme to encourage a better rate of recycling over 40 years ago.

This year, the South Australian Government is leading the way in Australia with proposals to ban certain single-use items.

They now propose to take action against plastic pollution further and are asking for your input.

It is vital that we take steps to reduce all plastic waste and your action needs to be taken urgently to stop the pollution of this toxic substance entering into the marine environment before it is too late.

Let the South Australian Government know that you support their actions and make South Australia first state in the country to ban single-use items.
