In Memory of Nicole Dunham

Friday, 02 Dec, 2022

Vale Nicole Dunham - 03.08.67 - 30.10.22.

Nicole was one of the most authentic people you’ll ever meet. As the Business Development Manager for Sea Shepherd Australia, Nicole was a dedicated leader, colleague and friend. Her strength and generosity will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to work with and learn from her.

Known for being forthright, Nicole (Nikki) will be remembered for her hilarious sense of humour, her generosity and her kindness.

We were constantly amazed by her depth of knowledge and ability to view any situation from many different angles. We are beyond sad to lose our friend, mentor and highly-valued and respected member of our team.

She was a larger-than-life character and as such, she has left a gaping hole in our Melbourne Office.

We loved Nicole’s energy, passion, ideas and extensive experience with her previous not-for-profit work. From day one, Nicole was off and running with gusto. She got to work, jumping straight into an emerging large corporate partner, taking the reins, and keeping the momentum going to delivery.

Nicole helped us, together, achieve so much for the ocean and marine life, here in Australia and globally. She has laid the foundations for an area of much-needed attention and care in our fundraising team. For this we are truly grateful but most of all, we are grateful for the memories and laughs we have had along the way.

So we honour her by enhancing all that she setup for Sea Shepherd and we honour her by enjoying life; having a laugh and a cry, and continuing to embrace blue-sky thinking as Nicole did time and time again with every challenge in life that she took on.

Rest in peace, Nicole. Your light shone so bright, and you have gone way too soon.

With deepest sympathy and oceans of support to all her dear family and friends.

- The Sea Shepherd Australia team.
