Protecting the Great Australian Bight
Operation Jeedara is our ongoing mission to defend, conserve, and protect the Great Australian Bight from risky deep-sea drilling.
We've already forced BP and Chevron to abandon their plans for drilling in the pristine and remote waters of the Great Australian Bight. Equinor is the latest company to place a bid to drill for oil in the Bight. As a proud member of the Great Australian Bight Alliance, we will keep fighting to keep them out.
In 2016 and 2018, Operation Jeedara saw our flagship, the M/Y Steve Irwin, travel to the Great Australian Bight to showcase the beauty of the region and raise the profile of the issue to a global audience.
